One of the final dissemination activities of our Erasmus+ project Kompostiraj – Recikliraj! took place on 9 June 2026 during Cullerciencia 2026, the regional Science Fair held along the Paseo do Burgo in Culleredo.
Spanish partner school participated in the event with several scientific projects, including the Erasmus+ composting initiative. Instead of transporting compost samples, which was not advisable due to the high temperatures, students presented the scientific methodology developed throughout the project to evaluate compost quality.
Visitors were able to observe the complete analysis protocol, including the preparation of compost-water solutions using a magnetic stirrer, pH measurements with both digital meters and indicator strips, and the use of soil pH measuring equipment. The educational video produced by the students explaining the composting process and the quality assessment was also displayed.
Throughout the day, students explained how compost maturity can be evaluated through simple physicochemical tests and why it is important to ensure that compost is fully stabilised before being used as fertiliser.
The stand attracted considerable interest from families, students, teachers and visitors, providing an excellent opportunity to share the environmental and scientific achievements of the Erasmus+ project with the wider community.
